The DiBartolo Family
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. NIV Pastor Johnny DiBartolo accepted his calling to ministry 27 years ago at Historic Second Baptist Church in his hometown of New Orleans. He believes that God has a divine purpose for everyone and that we should seek that God reveal His purpose in us individually and collectively. He believes that Jesus lived to provide an example for us, and he died and rose to redeem us so that we can live for the Glory of God. He is the former pastor of Warren Chapel United Methodist Church in Commerce, GA and Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Hoschton, GA. Pastor DiBartolo was born in New Orleans, LA, where he graduated from Jesuit High School before graduating with a degree in Theology from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, IN. He later graduated from Tulane School of Law before practicing law in New Orleans for several years, during which time he met his future wife. He later moved to the Atlanta area, where he began a 19 year career in non-profit leadership. He has worked at Boys & Girls Clubs of America for over thirteen years, impacting the lives of teens and youth worldwide.
The DiBartolo Family includes Dwanell, his wife of 18 years, and his two children, Johnny “JJ” (16) and Trinity (12). Sister DiBartolo has over 15 years of experience in education and currently teaches kindergarten at Baggett Elementary in Lawrenceville, GA. JJ is a sophomore at North Gwinnett High School and plays acoustic guitar and bass guitar. Trinity is a seventh grade Honor Student at North Gwinnett Middle School and plays piano and violin. The family enjoys spending time together traveling, shopping, critiquing movies and sampling unique foods. While Pastor DiBartolo has the formal ministerial calling, the entire family works in support. JJ is a youth leader and leads the audio/visual ministry. Trinity ensures that her father’s bags and items arrive to and from church each Sunday. Sister DiBartolo helps everyone stay on task and arrive on time while filling in as driver and lead propmaster for Pastor DiBartolo’s sermon illustrations. For the DiBartolo’s, ministry is a Family Affair.
